The level of change that will result from an ERP implementation is often underestimated. The term “change management” is not well understood by many ERP practitioners or by most ERP users. There is often a sense that because it covers the softer, people-related issues that arise during ERP implementation projects, change management itself is an ill-defined and woolly concept.

Ursula Browne, Jim Goodison and Edward Abrahamson from Lumenia Consulting  will share their views on why it is important to view an ERP implementation as a business change rather than an IT project. They will dispel the view that ERP change management is an ill-defined concept by defining the workstreams and implementation tasks that constitute this critical component of successful ERP projects.

Ursula Browne

Ursula is Lumenia’s Consulting Manager with responsibility for ERP deploy services, including business change management.  She has been with Lumenia since 2008, working with clients on business system strategy, selection and implementation projects and advising and supporting them through the transformation brought about by ERP.  Ursula has over 35 years of professional experience with a background in Supply Chain Management.

Before Lumenia, she worked with several large organisations in operational roles before concentrating on business systems consultancy, project management and change management. Ursula has a BA in Applied Psychology, is APICS certified and is a PRINCE2 practitioner.

Edward Abrahamson

Edward is a Principal Consultant with 15 years’ experience in leading, supporting and advising on the delivery of business and technology change.

Edward has extensive experience in public and private sector roles covering enterprise and business architecture, business analysis and process improvement, IT strategy development, system selection, business case development, project and programme management, change management and independent quality assurance.

In his most recent client engagement, Edward has been in the role of Change Manager for the phased roll-out of a tier-1 ERP solution across a group of infrastructure services businesses with a combined turnover of over £1B.

Jim Goodison

Jim is a Principal Consultant with 25 years’ experience in leading, supporting, and advising on the delivery of business and technology change.

Jim has extensive supply chain experience in private sector roles covering business analysis and process improvement, IT strategy development, system selection, business case development, project and programme management, change management and independent quality assurance.

In his most recent client engagement, Jim has been in the role of Change Manager for the phased roll-out of a tier-2 ERP solution across a global group of manufacturing businesses with a combined turnover of over €500m.
