Gort Cancer Support chosen for Lumenia Consulting 2023 Charity of the Year

Galway based consultants, Lumenia Consulting run a ‘Charity of the Year’ initiative as part of its corporate social responsibility programme and to give something back to the community. Employees are given the opportunity to nominate their chosen charity and the selected charity is chosen by employee vote.

The 2023 Lumenia Charity of the Year winner is Gort Cancer Support based in Gort, Co Galway. They have received a donation of €7,500. Gort Cancer Support was nominated by Lumenia employee, Bernie Audley-Belton who now lives in Gort.

Established in June 2007, Gort Cancer Support Centre offers a confidential community-based cancer support service to anybody affected by a cancer diagnosis in the South Galway / North Clare areas. They provide a range of services including counselling and psychotherapy, acupuncture, lymph drainage therapy and transport to appointments. 

Like many charities, financing of their services is an on-going concern. This donation will help them with the continuation of their much needed and valued services to cancer patients. Gort Cancer Support is managed by a volunteer Board of Trustees and Management Committee, with the assistance of volunteers.

Bernie Audley-Belton and John Donagher,  Managing Partner from Lumenia presented the cheque to Cara Brady, Manager, and Mary Nolan, Director, Gort Cancer Support.
